The Trot is the largest event in terms of participation in the Lakeway/Bee Cave/Spicewood community. In 2017, we had 370 participants show up for what might be best described as simply the joy of being with family. Last year we attracted 2,300 participants and that same family community was very evident!

The Trot is held at The Hills Country Club and features a certified 5k course (with timing services) and a one-mile fun run. Participants range from competitive runners to joggers, dog and stroller runners and walkers, and families out for an experience together…many dressed in Thanksgiving costumes.

On Thanksgiving morning participants are greeted with music, food and beverages (thanks to HEB)…a count down to the start which includes a thanksgiving prayer, the National Anthem, race warm up and more…
